The Center for ICT and Society (CIS), established with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea and the National Research Foundation of Korea, was actively involved in research through projects encompassing small-scale 3-year, medium-sized 3-year, and large-scale 4-year initiatives over the past decade. The primary focus of center has been on conducting research to establish the groundwork for addressing social challenges arising from information technology.
With the successful completion of these projects, CIS aspired to elevate its research initiatives to the institute level, marking a significant transition to the next phase. CIS has been selected for a grant spanning from 2023 to 2029, dedicated to addressing personal, organizational, and social issues through the development of intelligent information technology-based solutions. This grant represents a crucial step in our commitment to advancing research and providing innovative solutions to societal challenges in the digital age.
In a move to enhance synergies, the related research center, the Digital Platform Research Center, has been integrated into CIS. This integration is aimed at fostering collaborative and synergetic research efforts within CIS, further strengthening our capabilities to address the evolving landscape of digital technologies and their societal implications.
