On August 20th, the 6th SUITE FORUM was held at Korea University’s Media Hall, focusing on "Postdoc Life at KU and Beyond." After a brief opening remark by Professor Seongcheol Kim, three distinguished alumni shared their experiences of postdoctoral life at KU and the journey to their current faculty positions at various universities.
Dr. Min Sung Kim discussed her time as a research professor at the KU Center for ICT & Society, where she also gave a brief overview of her research interests and recent accomplishments. Dr. Min Sung Kim has recently been appointed as an assistant professor in the Department of Media Arts & Sciences at Korea National Open University.
Dr. Chulmin Lim reflected on his experience as a postdoctoral researcher at the KU Center for ICT & Society, and also recounted his time as a graduate student at KU. Dr. Chulmin Lim is set to join the Department of Media and Communication Studies at Jeonbuk National University as an assistant professor.
Lastly, Dr. Minjeong Ham shared her experience working as a postdoctoral researcher at the KU Center for ICT & Society and spoke about securing a faculty position abroad. As an assistant professor, Dr. Minjeong Ham will soon be joining the Department of Commerce at Nagoya University of Commerce and Business.
To conclude the event, our beloved Professor Seongcheol Kim surprised the three alumni with thoughtful gifts, celebrating their achievements. Congratulations to all of them, and we wish them the very best in their new roles!
