On August 10th, the 5th SUITE FORUM was held at Korea University's CCL. This event, themed around "Media Industry and Technology Research Trends," was composed of four presentations and a roundtable discussion. As a gathering of both alumni and current students of the SUITE LAB, the event featured presentations by Ph.D students Seungyeon Ha and Jaeyoung Park, who shared their perspectives on research and industry trends from a student’s viewpoint. Alumni, Professor Junghwan Kim and Dr. Jieun Park, introduced the important questions and attitudes we should adopt in the evolving media landscape.
In the following roundtable, we had the opportunity to hear insights and advice based on practical experience from several distinguished professionals: Seongjae Kim, Team Leader at CJ ENM and Mikyung Kwon, CEO of Studio N, and Dr. Soowon Kim and Dr. Jieun Park, both of whom completed their PhDs and are now working in the field. It was a valuable time to discuss the gap between academia and industry, and the efforts of experts to bridge that divide. The roundtable was moderated by Professor Junghwan Kim.
As this event brought together both alumni and current members of the SUITE LAB, it concluded with a moment of reminiscing about past memories shared within the lab. Listening to the words of the professor who made these precious connections possible, attendees were able to feel the strong bonds and camaraderie among the alumni and current students.
